The Punjab state administers the Punjab State Teaching Eligibility Test (PSTET) to candidates seeking teaching positions in public and private educational institutions. There are two sections to the PSTET exam. The first is the lower primary TET, which is intended for candidates wishing to instruct pupils in grades I through V. The second test is the upper primary TET, which is intended for candidates wishing to instruct pupils in grades VI through VIII.
