These bikes are now getting rarer when you look at the original sales
figures from Yamaha. During 1998 only 181 were sold nationally and
between 1996 and 1999 only 1317 were sold in total. If you take off the
write-offs and wrecks there are probably only 700 or 800 or so genuine
Australian delivered bikes left.
I bought this one with the intentions of making it look distinctive
and in its Laverda Arancio colour scheme with Arancio and Silver wheels
it certainly is, to top it off I had custom decals made with a reverse
silver flash for the tank and all lettering in black not the black and
white they came in. It's only **** point appearance wise is the bumpad
has a few marks in it but that's a cheap easy fix. It is being sold
unregistered without a plate - I can't see why it won't pass.
Apart from looking great it goes like the proverbial bat outta hell
and will not disappoint the person looking for a classic trellis framed
270 degree throw big twin sports bike that handles. Essentially, the
'Thinking Mans Ducati' For the classifieds asking price of $2800 you're
getting one helluva bike.
