Noida: The 9th Global Literary Festival held in Noida illuminated the power of still photography as an art form, courtesy of a remarkable exhibition by the AAFT School of Still Photography. The exhibition underscored the fundamental significance of still photography in creative education and highlighted its integration into various courses offered at the esteemed AAFT group of Institutions, encompassing Cinema, journalism, fashion, animation, advertising, and more.
Photographs, often hailed as enduring memories captured in a single frame, possess a distinct ability to convey a narrative equivalent to a thousand words. Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios and Chancellor of AAFT University, stated, “The event emphasized how still photography serves as a significant exercise in concentration and aids in elevating one’s level of aesthetic sense.â€
Emile Mwepesi, Second Secretary at the High Commission of Rwanda, and Alfredo Caldera, Cultural Counsellor at the Embassy of Venezuela, esteemed guests at the event, graced the occasion and inaugurated the exhibition. Mwepesi applauded the importance of still photography as a powerful means of storytelling and artistic expression. Caldera emphasized the crucial role of still photography in capturing the essence of diverse cultures and societies.
The exhibition provided a platform for students, teachers, and numerous renowned photographers to witness the exceptional work curated by the students of AAFT School of Still Photography. Their proficiency and creativity in this timeless art form left a lasting impression on all attendees.
