With the Magento 2 backorder extension, the admin can allow customers or guest users to place orders for upcoming or unavailable products in the store. To set up a Magento 2 backorder, customers will get the zip folder, and they have to extract the contents of this zip folder from their system. In the src folder, you have the app folder. Now you have to transfer this app folder into the Magento 2 root directory on the server. After that, you can set Magento 2 backorder to navigate to Store -> Configuration -> Catalog -> Inventory -> Product Stock Options.
