Kudos Finance and Investments is a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) that provides loans to small entrepreneurs in the MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) sector. Pavitra received the Non-Banking Financial Institution license in 2010 and ran the company on a pilot program for the first three years. Kudos offers three types of loans: short-term loans (1–6 months), business loans (24 months), and machinery loans (30–36 months).
Kudos Finance provides unsecured business loans to retailers, traders, kirana stores, saree centers, restaurants, and more, with loan amounts ranging from Rs 1–20 lakh. Machinery loans, aimed at the manufacturing sector, start from Rs 1 lakh and go up to Rs 30 lakh. For short-term loans, Kudos offers unsecured loans to existing customers who want to buy bulk goods at discounted rates, with amounts ranging from Rs 2–10 lakh.
Extensive market research on the borrowing habits and loan needs of the MSME sector helped Pavitra create a database of potential customers. Kudos Finance was officially incorporated in 2013 and successfully raised Rs 2 crore in two tranches from the Bank of Maharashtra in May 2014 and May 2015. In December 2015, the company secured another Rs 50 lakh from Mas Financial.
