Monkey Shoulder Whiskey is a well-known blended Scotch whiskey created from the best spirits of Dufftown: Balvenie, Glenfiddich, and Kininvie. The last distillery never produces spirits under its own brand. Kininvie was founded in 1990 and, since then, has only been working to create spirits for the Monkey Shoulder blend. All three spirits age in barrels on their own, and only after that, 27 barrels are selected to create the Monkey Shoulder blend, which later begins to age on its own.
