The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) created the National Institute of Securities Markets, often known as NISM, as a public trust in 2006. Under the SEBI (Certification of Associated Persons in Securities Markets) regulations of 2007. NISM carries out the following two tasks: Provides required certification tests for anyone connected to securities market intermediaries. Provides Continuing Professional Education (CPE) programs for people connected to intermediates in the securities sector.
The certificate must be renewed once it expires by passing the pertinent NISM certification test before then or by completing a CPE program that has been approved by the NISM within a year of the expiration date.
After its expiration date, the certificate will be revalidated for three years.
