You can reset your Microsoft account password for http://account.live.com by doing the following: 

• You must first go to https://account.live.com, the Microsoft Account sign-in page.
• By selecting the Forgot my password link located underneath the Sign in button, you can reset it. 
• Select I lost my password after that, and then press Next.
• The characters seen on the screen must be entered in the designated box along with your email address or phone number associated with your Microsoft account.
• You must confirm your identification on the following page. To do this, choose the option you choose to get the security code through email, phone, or authenticator app.
• You can generate a new, secure password after entering the security code. To finish the password-reset procedure and confirm the new password, click Next.
