Graduating from college at the age of 19 with a degree in economics and mathematics and attending top business school, Wharton, Rene Jimenez was a disciplined and driven young man. Mr. Jimenez began his career in finance, rising to senior vice president of CIBC Oppenheimer Capital at the age of 24 and, subsequently, senior VP at Lehman Brother’s Consulting Services division. In the following years, Mr. Jimenez additionally put his mathematics and technical skills to use through serving as a technologist for over 20 companies, specifically assisting three companies in global launch: AliExpress, Yahoo, and About.com. Mr. Jimenez has served as chief marketing officer (CMO) to speedyclick.com and sickbay.com—the former sold for $58M and the latter ranked as the number one website in the world—by Comscore—under the medical category. From 1999-2000, speedyclick.com was the only website to exceed Oprah Winfrey’s media in every category/metric, including reach, advertising, usership, repetitiveness, and stickiness. Mr. Jimenez also served as chief technology officer (CTO) to Emerald Forest Sweeteners—the world’s largest diabetic sugar seller placing in over 1200 national retail chains and distribution points from 2005 to 2009. Outside of his technical and business prowess, Mr. Jimenez has served in roles supporting community outreach and development. Specifically, he was selected by Governor Cuomo to serve on the Hispanic Advisory Council from 1989-1992. During this time, Mr. Jimenez assisted several law enforcement agencies in community outreach programs that were effective in reducing drug use in New York City youth and in Washington Heights. He additionally worked with Cuomo to implement economic assistance programs, such as the SBA (small business administration) minority program rollout, helping to launch several major minority- and Hispanic-owned businesses. Currently, Mr. Jimenez is the chief technology officer of Bushido Commerce, which he has owned and operated for over a decade. With all of Mr. Jimenez’s successful endeavors, conservative background, and admirable legacy, above all, he is passionate about the development and success of women- and minority-owned businesses.
