Stephane Marchand had his education from Ecole Polytechnique
from 1980 to 1984, where he took up the subjects of Maths and economics and at
the same time, also was a volleyball player. His ability to dabble in various
assignments had much to do with the teamwork he developed in the games he
played. After his graduation, he went for masters in Statistics and Economics
in Ecole nationale de la Statistique et de l’Administration économique (ENSAE)
from 1984 to 1986.
Career
Soon after finishing his post graduation in statistics and
economics, in 1988, Stephane Marchand got his first assignment with Le Figaro
newspaper as the Jerusalam Bureau Chief to cover the First Intifada, Middle
East Affairs and Lebanon. Then he got improvised assignments as White House
Attache and covered two presidential campaigns by being the Washington Bureau
Chief of Le Figaro from 1990 to 1997. Thereafter he went on to become the
business editor in the same newspaper for 7 more years, covering economic
policy of France, international economics and that of Europe. Till 2008, he
served as Deputy Editor, OpEd Editor and columnist in Le Figaro. In 2008,
Stephane Marchand shifted to an online magazine of E24 France and became its
CEO and Chief Editor, till 2009. Thereafter in 2009, he went on to become the
chief editor of ParisTech Review, a position which he holds till the present.
Simultaneously, he is also having his own consulting company by the name of
Stephane Marchand Consulting, which helps in providing consulting assistance to
various leading companies in fields of international matters and helps in
building up economic, regulatory and political strategies.
