The Chennai Peripheral Ring Road (CPRR)
Project is a significant infrastructure development designed to enhance
connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in Chennai. Spanning approximately
132 km, this six-lane road will connect major highways, including NH-16, NH-32,
NH-77, NH-48, and the Outer Ring Road (ORR), offering smooth transportation
across Tamil Nadu. The project is being developed by the Tamil Nadu Road
Infrastructure Development Corporation (TNRIDC), with Tata Projects serving as
one of the key contractors responsible for its execution. Once completed, the
CPRR will drastically reduce travel time, improve access to ports, industrial
zones, and logistics hubs, and alleviate congestion in urban areas. The road
will link regions such as Ennore, Sriperumbudur, Singaperumal Koil, and Mahabalipuram,
spurring economic growth. The project will include flyovers, bypasses, and
service roads, ensuring efficient traffic flow. With the involvement of Tata
Projects, the CPRR is set to elevate Chennai’s metropolitan infrastructure,
improving urban mobility, reducing pollution, and boosting regional
connectivity.
